Cash Register Regulation (RKSV) came into force on April 1, 2017 in Austria. This states that all cash registers must be equipped with a certified security device against manipulation and regulates how the protection has to look like. Another feature of the RKSV is to generate a machine-readable code (QR code) on the document. This QR code contains the receipt data and a signature value. The signature value is calculated based on the revenues made by the cash register.
