2nd Day
HAGIA SPOHIA MOSQUE – SULTANAHMET (BLUE) MOSQUE – TOPKAPI PALACE– BASILICA CISTERN – GRAND BAZAAR
After having breakfast together at the hotel, we visit the Hagia Sophia Mosque. After the 1500-year-old dream Hagia Sophia, which is considered one of the most important masterpieces of world architecture, gives us the impression of being in another time with its different architectural structure and figures reflecting the Byzantine period, we turn our route to the Sultanahmet Mosque, which will fascinate us with its architecture. Afterwards, we go to visit Topkapı Palace, the administrative center of the Ottoman Empire. Today, only 70.000 m² of the palace which was built on an area of 700.000m² can be visited.
After ending our tour of this palace where we can see the most beautiful view of Istanbul we take our lunch break.
After a nice lunch, we go to visit the Basilica Cistern, one of the magnificent historical buildings of Istanbul. This large underground cistern, built by Byzantine Emperor Justinian I -527-565- will fascinate you with the mystical atmosphere created by its seemingly countless marble columns rising from the water. Afterwards, we visit the Grand Bazaar, whose foundations were laid in 1461 and whose aesthetic design resembles a giant labyrinth.
The historical shopping area, which has nearly 60 streets and more than 3600 shops, covers a total area of 30.700 m2 .
It can be expressed as the attraction point of Istanbul both in tourism and commercial terms.
After our visit to the Grand Bazaar, we relieve the pleasant tiredness of this wonderful trip at dinner and then return to the hotel for the 2nd night's stay.
